A friend recently told me that I’m just wasting my time trying to learn how to read traditional sheet music – she said that I should try learning how to read guitar tabs instead. She said that once I know how to read guitar tabs, playing the guitar will be easy. This sounds great, but I want to do some research, since it sounds a little too good to be true. If I really can learn to play more easily, I’d love it. However, I’ve already invested a lot of my time and money in traditional guitar lessons - with little success - and if this isn’t going to work, I’d rather not just pour more cash down the drain. So, has anyone had success – or a particularly bad failure – with this tabs method?
