As a nature photographer living in northeast Georgia I have the benefit of being able to travel into the mountains quite easily.  I have photographed several waterfalls, old barns and covered bridges.  I even have an image of an old general store with a Gulf sign out front.  It is quite a popular image with people who either remember the days of Gulf stations or had a family member who worked for the company years ago. The mountains are my most desired destination for a photographic outing.  My daughter says that I need to get to the Georgia coast and photograph some lighthouses.  That is on my photo opportunity list for sure

Throughout the generations of my family, for approximately four generations now, my family has participate in keepsake quilting. In each generation, someone makes a keepsake quilt to pass down to the next generation. So far, we have four keepsake quilts. I am to be the creator of the next keepsake quilt in my generation. I can remember sitting at my mother’s knee as she created the last keepsake quilt. We would spend long afternoons talking as she quilted. I remember feeling a sense of comfort while watching her practiced movements as she hand sewed the precious quilt. Now, I will create those memories with my own child.
